Earlier this week, Columbus Underground broke the news that a new 11-story office building was being proposed for development in The Short North by a local development partnership between The Wood Companies and Schiff Capital Group. That announcement included some details about a new public parking garage in Italian Village at the northeast corner of Pearl Street and Lincoln Street.

According to the Historic Commission Review Application submitted to the City of Columbus, the new parking garage building would contain a total of 244 spaces, with 125 said to be allocated for public use. The garage would contain five floors of parking, with the lower level below street grade.

Additionally, the new structure would contain four stories of residential units would face Lincoln Street to the south, to better integrate the project into the neighborhood. The proposal indicates a total of 13 residential units are planned, with eight one-bedroom units, four two-bedroom units and a rooftop penthouse with a private terrace. A single ground floor retail space would sit at the southeast corner of the building, and a residential clubhouse with an additional shared terrace would also be located on the roof.

The Italian Village Commission is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, September 15th, where the project will be conceptually reviewed.
