The Brewery District will be welcoming a new multi-faceted facility this September.
Copious, an appropriately named 21,000 square foot facility, will open this September at 520 South High Street. The space will comprise of a restaurant, bar, event space, and an underground music venue called Notes. (You can read all about the full concept in our article from April.)
The first floor restaurant will serve farm-to-table upscale comfort food, seating 100. The menu will feature dishes like wild mushroom risotto, an angus burger stuffed with crawfish and andouille sausage, and deviled duck eggs. The same-level bar will highlight an extensive wine menu, alongside craft cocktails and beers. Local art will be displayed gallery-style on the restaurant’s walls. Copious’ bar is on the same level, extending onto a High Street sidewalk patio.
The second floor of Copious will serve as an open banquet-style event space, with space for up to 250 people. It will feature a full bar, catering kitchen, and balcony patio.
Notes plans on accentuating local talent, booking a “full range of musical styles” including jazz, bluegrass, folk, and small singer-songwriter acts. Teeny Tucker, Anthony Mossburg, The Floorwalkers, and Urban Jazz Coalition are just a sampling of the artists that have been booked for this fall. The venue will seat 200, along with a connected bar and lounge.
