A new local restaurant concept is coming to Grandview Yard, along with a few other tenants announced today. Brekkie Shack, owned by sisters and Columbus natives Lisa and Lindsey Rusch, will open in late summer at 1060 Yard St., in the new Manchester building.

“Growing up in Columbus, we knew we wanted to bring something to the area that didn’t previously exist,” Lisa says. “This is the ideal community for our casual-cool restaurant experience, and Grandview Yard was the perfect place to start our business…”

While Brekkie Shack will offer breakfast, lunch and handcrafted cocktails, the restaurant is staying true to its name and keeping breakfast as its true focus. With a background in baking, the two owners intend to offer a variety of scratch-baked goods, along with a plant-centric menu featuring items like seasonal veggie hash topped with over easy eggs. They’ve partnered with Crimson Cup for their coffee program, which will include cold brew, hot drip and a selection of teas. The rest of the items are still being conceptualized by Lindsey, who’s running the kitchen.

Lisa says Brekkie Shack will function much like Northstar, in that guests will order and pay, then take a number to a table where a food runner will bring their meal. As they anticipate a heavy lunch crowd, the wait time is estimated at 10 to 12 minutes.

The space is roughly 2,500 square feet and sits on the south side of the Manchester building. Most of the walls are glass, except where the Rusches installed garage doors that open to the patio.

As neighbors, Nationwide Realty Investors announced that banking firm Janney Montgomery Scott LLC as well as a MY SALON Suite would also be moving into the first floor later this summer.

Brekkie Shack is slated for a grand opening on the weekend of Saturday, August 18, barring any delays. Once open it’ll operate during the morning and afternoon, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
