Arch City Development’s plans for the southwest corner of East Fifth Avenue and North Fourth Street has gone through several changes since the project was first proposed last summer.

Originally conceived as a mixed-use development featuring townhomes and a brewpub, it is now purely a residential project.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to move the project forward,” said Brian Higgins of Arch City, adding that the latest design takes into consideration feedback from the last time the Italian Village Commission weighed in on the development, in April.

The commission approved the zoning variances for the project at that April meeting, but requested some changes be made to the design.

Plans now call for a three-story building facing Fifth Avenue, with a two-story building extending to the south along Fourth Street. The two building would hold a total of 11 townhomes and three flats. Parking would be provided through a mix of attached garages and a separate, detached garage that would hold six cars.
