New Concept from Northstar Cafe Founders Coming to Short North

Betty’s Fine Food and Spirits has only been closed for a week, but it’s already got a successor in the works. Representatives from Northstar Cafe were sighted taking measurements and drawing up places in the space the very next day after closure.

“We have rented the space, however, we have no details to share about when a new restaurant will open, and what form it will take,” said Northstar Cafe owner Kevin Malhame. “We have a lot of design, menu work, and construction to do before we will be back with more info.”

A new concept at 680 North High Street would be the third for Malhame, who launched Third and Hollywood in Grandview in 2009.

Betty’s Fine Food and Spirits was originally announced as relocating to Gay Street in January, but owner Elizabeth Lessner confirmed last week that the relocation was no longer happening.

Stay tuned for more information about the new restaurant concept and an opening date.
