A new cafe will join the lineup of business populating South High Street in the Brewery District.
Emmett’s Neighborhood Cafe will open its doors at 744 S. High St. this fall. The casual cafe will serve up breakfast and lunch daily from 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.
“We believe Columbus is looking for a concept with an excellent coffee program, but also substantial food options,” says Emmett’s Co-Owner Ben Kelley. “This won’t be your classic coffee shop that may have some pastries on the front counter. Our goal is to create a cafe experience that combines a superior coffee program with healthier food options in a laid-back environment.”
Longtime Columbus barista Robin Myers is managing partner of the project and will head up the beverage program which will include a full espresso bar and specialty drinks.
As for the eats, Emmett’s diners will find dishes like breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast and overnight oats, and lunch eats like bowls and wraps.
“My goal with Emmett’s is to create a charming and approachable environment that drives our culture forward, enriches the lives of our team, and I hope will be a space our neighbors will love,” Myers says. “Oh, and did I mention rad coffee? Lots of rad coffee!”
In the evenings, Emmett’s will make their cafe available for rent for dinner parties and special events.
Emmett’s joins a growing list of local businesses populating South High Street in the Brewery District. Next door is cocktail bar Law Bird which opened in November 2019. Pioneers in the area, Kolache Republic may have closed their stand-alone location, but will make a comeback in the neighborhood at The Daily Growler. The cafe also counts Ambrose & Eve, Antiques on High and Local Cantina among its neighbors.
