Columbus currently has a large number of craft breweries from which drinkers can choose, which doesn’t mean we still don’t love it when another moves in. For fans of wildly popular Fat Tire Amber Ale, there’s good news: it’s coming.

Superior Beverage Group, which currently services 33 counties in Ohio, has announced that they will be the sole distributor for New Belgium Brewing, which makes Fat Tire, among others. The Colorado-based company chose Ohio to be the 35th state to carry their product due, in large part, to our own burgeoning beer culture.

“Expansion at our Fort Collins brewery has allowed us to enter the Ohio market, and we couldn’t be more excited,” shares Brian Krueger, sales rep for New Belgium. “Columbus has a great craft beer scene and we’re looking forward to contributing everything we can to help grow that further.”

Beginning December 16, drinkers will be able to find both draft and bottled versions of a few of New Belgium brews: Fat Tire Amber Ale (5.2% ABV), Ranger IPA (6.5% ABV), Trippel Belgian Style Ale (7.8% ABV), Accumulation White IPA (6.2% ABV), and the Lips of Faith series, which includes La Folie Wood Aged Sour Brown Ale (6% ABV), and Wild2 Dubbel Autumn Ale (8% ABV).

New Belgium Brewing is 100% employee-owned and the 3rd largest craft brewery in the country. Teaming up with Superior Beverage Group assures that their beers will be enjoyed by many more beer lovers in the very near future.
