The team behind The Walrus, Olde Towne Tavern, and Corner Stone Craft Beer & Wine have plans to open a new Downtown barbecue joint.

The new restaurant — name to be determined – will consist of a full service barbecue sit-down interior, drive-through, and outdoor walk-up counter. The space is located directly west of The Walrus, at 113 E. Main Street, in the former site of Ray Johnson’s Seafood Market. The front parking lot will be remodeled into a large Main Street-facing patio. The patio and sit-down portions combined will seat an estimated 150.

Restaurateur Brad Hobbs informed Columbus Underground that construction on the new business is slated to begin soon. The spacious building will undergo mostly cosmetic renovations, including an interior overhaul and patio buildout.

The renovation timeline and opening date are still to be determined. Follow Columbus Underground for updates.
