Neighborhood Launch Development Reaches Halfway Point

With 100 owner-occupied units sold and another 100 on the way, the Edwards Companies is celebrating reaching what they are calling the halfway point for the 7.5-acre Neighborhood Launch development.

Covering nine city blocks, the development has steadily moved east since its first two buildings — eight units on N. Fourth St. and another 17 in the Park Building, located around the corner on Gay Street — were completed in 2008.

Since that time, two phases of Bishops Walk townhomes have filled in along Gay, 21 contemporary townhomes were completed on Fifth Street, and construction is well under way on the 13-unit Sixth Street Mews.

“It’s really great to now be able to see this urban residential community coming together and spurring other development in the area with Briosó Coffee and Jimmy John’s recently opening.” said Kim Ulle, president of Edwards affiliate Eclipse Real Estate. A new nearby artist studio project was also announced earlier this week.

The Neighborhood Launch master plan has also evolved to include significant for-rent offerings, including the 130-unit Normandy apartment building, which opened in 2014, and its twin the Neilston, which is currently under construction.

Currently, over $500 Million in construction is under way in Downtown Columbus, which includes the projects at Neighborhood Launch.
