Filling a void in German Village for healthy, organic food, Native Cold Pressed officially opened its doors this week. Joining local businesses Fox in the Snow and STUMP, co-owner Nicole Salvo-Davis said Native will add even more value to a long-vacant block that’s building in character.
“We were so excited to be a part of the local business crew that’s going into that corner. I think every single business stands out and is so unique,” Salvo-Davis said. “We had a lot of people that just were like, ‘We’re so excited that you’re here, because there’s just not very many healthy options in the Village,’ so we’re just happy to bring that healthy, organic option for them.”
Local collaboration is brought to life in the new Native Cold Pressed store. The 800 square foot space is filled with STUMP plants, decked out in A Carpenter’s Son Design Co. furniture, and personalized with a mural by local artist Candace Smith. The foundation of the design is a culmination of the two styles from Native’s Bexley and Short North stores, a blending of industrial, rustic and contemporary.
Fans of Native won’t find many differences as far as the menu is concerned. This new location offers the same cold pressed juices, superfood smoothies and bowls, healthy bites, protein bites, and blackbird salads.
Although Native has opened three locations in the three short years they’ve been in business, Salvo-Davis said it’s time to pump the brakes on expansion.
“Obviously there are a lot of other neighborhoods we’d love to be in, and there’s some pull to go north,” Salvo-Davis said. “But, we just want to get these running as smoothly as possible before we would ever expand again.”
Native Cold Pressed is open in German Village with varying hours from the other locations. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday through Friday and from 10 to 5 p.m. on weekends. It can be found at 214 Thurman Ave.
