Murph’s On High (formerly Metro) Open for Biz

On the way to High Beck Tavern for some late grease grub last night, We discovered that the old Metro’s, on South High, has been transformed and re-opened as Murph’s On High. We were poured big drinks, served by an engaging bartender, Candy.

The owner, Matt Murphy, introduced himself and we had a cool 10-minute convo about micro-breweries and the new place. The paint is new, the remodel is solid (flatscreens a-plenty), but the best part was the people — they were GREAT!

They’ve only been opened four days and haven’t unveiled the remodel of the larger club area just yet. A full menu is on the way, featuring pizzas, salads, subs, and “Murph’s Munchies” appetizers. The parking lot (yes, PARKING) has been repaved and secured — you only enter from High, the’ve blocked the Pearl entrance.

We were given great service, treated nicely and personally invited back. It seems simple enough, but the formula works. We’ll be adding it to our ‘best new find’ list for sure!
