“This is raw, uncensored. Melt Hot Fitness Downtown!” said Kelly Sondegren before her recent hot yoga class at 33 N. Grant Ave.
Sodergren is a consummate fitness professional, and she really helps students keep their promises. Sodergren and her crew have been holding fat-melting, body-carving yoga and fitness classes for years at Melt Hot Fitness’ locations in Westerville and Dublin. Now Melt Hot Fitness has a Downtown location, Melt Annex.
Melt Hot Fitness classes use curated playlists. Held in a cozy, dark room with excellent heat, the routines work multiple major muscle groups for you to feel exercised. Sodergren and trained teachers encourage breath and mindfulness in their yoga classes as much as many other yoga programs around town, and Sondegren also encourages healthy off-the-mat habits such as eating lots of vegetables and avoiding alcohol.
“I am loving this,” said Melt student Sherehan Ross, “I was driving to Dublin and back from Downtown for Kelly’s workout before. Now I am only two blocks away.”
Sodergren and her business partner, Eric Vetrano, have been committed to mind and body fitness for over nine years. They found out about an open room at Shape Fitness from the owner, Arnold Coleman.
“We knew that we had students working Downtown who would love our classes, and we have new students finding us now,” said Sodergren. More classes may come soon; currently, Melt Annex classes are scheduled for after work on weekdays and on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
“We set little goals. Day by day we grow stronger,” Sondegren says during class. “We sweat out toxins and bit by bit things change for us.”
Ross noted, “Kelly totally changed my body. I am so happy that I can attend her classes Downtown now.”
The Melt Hot Fitness Annex is located inside Shape Fitness. Free parking is available next to the building at 33 N. Grant Ave., and there is a pay lot adjacent to their parking lot, too. Also, there are plenty of meters on Gay Street. Showers are onsite.
