Popular Cleveland-based grilled cheese palace Melt Bar & Grilled has taken Columbus by storm. Their Short North location opened only seven short months ago, and the restaurant has remained regularly crowded by fans of gargantuan sandwiches and the hip ambiance that can be found within.
Today, Melt has announced a second Columbus location that will be going into the new Easton Gateway center, which is also home to new Costco, Whole Foods, Dick’s Sporting Goods, REI and other bigger-box stores.
“To be opening a second location in Columbus in just a year is an amazing feeling,” said Melt owner Matt Fish. “We are already in love with our Columbus fans and can’t wait to be a part of this new development in Easton. It’s definitely a chance to bring the Melt flair and personality—and, of course, food—to a whole new population, both local to and visiting the Easton neighborhood.”
The Easton Melt location will clock in at a whopping 5,013 square feet — just slightly smaller than the 5,400 square foot Short North restaurant — and is slated to open in October.
“Easton is known worldwide for its commitment to providing a preeminent tenant mix of retail and restaurant options, and Melt certainly fits,” said Beau Arnason, executive vice president with Easton co-developers Steiner and Associates. “There isn’t a restaurant in Columbus that’s generating more buzz than Melt. We’re confident that all Easton visitors, whether they’re taking a lunch break from work or a break from shopping, will find Melt to be an appealing destination.”
