The Atlas building Downtown is adding some Mediterranean flair. District North, the first restaurant concept from father-son team Mossaad Beshay and Bassem Mossad, will open this spring.

District North will serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner in fast-casual style from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. While Mossad describes the menu as Greek and Mediterranean, a full array of cuisines are covered on the expansive menu. Kabobs, gyros, falafels, and an assortment of Mediterranean starters, like tzatziki dip, baba ghanouj and grape leaves make an appearance. But guests will also be able to snag a buffalo chicken wrap, a bacon cheeseburger, wings, and soup at District North, among other items.

The restaurant will also be available for catering private events, with a catering menu offering sandwiches, entrees, salads, dips and dessert.

As District North will be Mossad’s first ever restaurant venture, he’s a little nervous about opening it up in the Downtown area, but the continuous development of the neighborhood had a natural pull.

“There’s so much construction going on right now, and Downtown is really coming to life,” he says.

District North will take up the ground floor of that Atlas Building at 8 E. Long St. Mossad plans on an opening in late April or early May.
