MadLab Theatre Relocating to New Downtown Space

MadLab Theatre will be kicking off 2010 with a bang as they relocate into a brand new Downtown home at 227 N. Third Street. The new space will not only be 50% larger than their old home at 105 N. Grant, but it will also be owned by the group, making them one of the few theatre companies in Columbus to own their own venue.

“The mere fact that MadLab will be owning its own space is a titanic step in our development”, said Andy Batt, Managing Director of MadLab. “The doors have opened for us to do what we want, when we want, with our own space.”

Madlab opened their venue at 105 N. Grant in 1999. The final performance in the old space will take place on February 13th, 2010, and the new space venue is scheduled for a mid-March opening.

MadLab Theatre operates as a non-profit organization, and is launching a new “Raise the Roof” campaign to help fund the renovations for their new space. Their budget is set at $70,000, and they’ve already raised $50,000. Donations can be made at madlab.net.
