After more than six decades, family-run Josie’s Pizza has closed its doors at 952 W. Broad St. in Franklinton.

Initial rumblings that the pizza joint would be closing began earlier in January, with the business confirming the news via social media post on January 27.

“We would first like to thank all of our customers of 62 years of support!” the statement read. “We have loved every single one of you guys that has shown us support through our Facebook page, and through the “Bring Back The Original Josie’s Pizza” page.”

Owner Joyce Catalfina is retiring.

“It’s been a great run, but it’s time for a break, maybe even a vacation,” she said.

The post said Josie’s Pizza had no current statement on future business, “but like we always say, keep your cards! “They never expire!””

The 10,000 square foot building which housed Josie’s Pizza is now for sale for $999,900. In addition to the ground-floor restaurant space, the building has a second floor currently laid out as four apartments and a basement.

Josie’s Pizza is a separate entity from Josie’s Hilltop Pizza, 3205 W. Broad St., which remains open.
