Two Columbus natives have written and produced Terminal B, a TV comedy about life at an airport told by the people who work there. Manhattan-based (but Ohio-raised) video producer, Charles Alexander Berlepsch, teamed up with longtime collaborator from Columbus Jimmy Sackenheim to create the new sitcom series that teeters on an amalgamation of Wings and The Office with a dash of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia grit.
If you’ve ever flown, you know that within five minutes of sitting at your terminal you’ve seen just about every walk of life that exists on planet Earth — possibly other planets, too. Charles envisioned the show while waiting for a flight at an airport. As a filmmaker, Charles spent a lot of time with little to do in terminals from Haiti to Honduras. He observed and obsessed over the secret life behind the scenes. The cast of characters that keep the rest of us moving from place to place entertained him — serving as the foundational fuel for the sitcom. From that Terminal B was born.
You can watch the pilot at Vimeo On Demand for a small price of a dollar rental or buy it for $2.99. Give it a watch and let us know what you think.
