Local Candle Maker Opening Locations at Polaris, Tuttle

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, local social enterprise Eleventh Candle Co. will open two new retail locations. The candle maker will set up shop in a free-standing retail kiosk at Polaris Fashion Place and at a temporary pop-up shop at the Mall at Tuttle Crossing.

The new retail locations come on the heels of a recent announcement of partnership between Eleventh Candle Co. and lifestyle coworking space COhatch which will provide the social enterprise funding, production space and synergistic opportunities. Eleventh Candle Co. currently houses its production and first retail presence at COhatch’s Madery in Worthington.

Both locations will carry the brand’s 11-scent candle collection, room sprays, cards, gifts, subscription boxes and apparel. Polaris and their flagship Madery location will also offer candle-making parties onsite for customers to DIY their own fragrances.

Eleventh Candle Co.’s mission goes beyond pouring quality candles. The business not only seeks to empower at-risk individuals through employment opportunities, but provide education and awareness of human trafficking. Its employees earn above minimum wage and receive trauma-informed counseling.

To build public awareness, Eleventh Candle Co. Polaris will provide a “safe space” for those in need as well as offer help and educational materials to affected individuals. The Tuttle location will focus on providing educational materials to customers.

“As I always say, one candle can make a difference,” said Amber Runyon, CEO and founder of Eleventh Candle Co. “With our retail shops at high-visibility locations like Polaris and Tuttle, we will be able to exponentially touch more people and bring our message to millions locally. We are both raising attention to this escalating social issue and being a part of the solution.”

The new locations are part of a rapid expansion plan for Eleventh Candle Co. which is aiming for 10 locations across the Midwest in the next three years.

Eleventh Candle Co.’s Polaris location is slated to open October 5 and will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 – 6 p.m. on Sunday. The Tuttle location will open on November 1 and have the same hours Monday through Saturday with an extra hour on Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
