The date is set for Scott Ellsworth’s latest opening in his numbered-bar empire.

Fives Up High will appropriately make its debut on January 5, 2022 at 5 p.m., taking over the former home of Hendoc’s Pub at 2375 N. High St. The transformation is underway on the Old North bar that touts itself as “Just a dive bar trying to keep dive bars alive on the greatest campus in the world!” according to its Instagram.

“We’re looking forward to giving you another spot on High St to create lifelong memories and a new place to call home,” another post announcing the new operation read.

A mere 0.2 miles separates Fives from Threes Above High, 2203 N. High St., the campus-area successor to popular bygone bar Too’s Under High.

The missing number lies in the Short North, where Ellsworth morphed Barrel on High into Fours on High at 1120 N. High St., offering bingo, booze and more bar entertainment.

Fives Up High will be open from 5 p.m. – 2 a.m. daily, with an earlier starting time on OSU gamedays.
