Ever since the Greener Grocer closed up shop at the end of 2014, the North Market has been without a true produce stand. The wait for a replacement is finally coming to an end as the Market announced today that the owner of the recently opened Little Eater will be be launching “Little Eater Produce and Provisions” in just a few short weeks.
“Fresh produce is such an important aspect of who and what we are at North Market, and it has been for 138 years,” said North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe. “We are extremely lucky to have found someone with such a creative spirit and unparalleled passion for all things fresh.”
L.E.P.P. will be an extension of the new produce-inspired restaurant, offering grocery customers access to a “year-round farmers’ market” with high quality produce, artisan food products and other items for stocking the pantry.
“We will carefully select farm partners and continuously grow our relationships with producers to curate the very best Ohio and American-made artisan food products,” said Little Eater Owner Cara Mangini. “We will provide constant education, sampling, and demonstrations along with advice, tips, tricks and recipes to help inspire seasonal cooking at home.”
Little Eater Produce and Provisions will be located in the same space where the Greener Grocer was formerly set up. Construction has already begun and an opening is planed for early April. The North Market will also be expanding hours of operation beginning in April, and will also see the launch of Destination Donuts later that month.
