Lime Launches Bike and Scooter Services at OSU

When Ohio State students return to school next week, they’ll have a new way to zip between classes. Lime officially launched its bike rental and scooter rental services on the main Ohio State campus today.

“Lime is thrilled to bring multimodal mobility options to The Ohio State University as an expansion of our operations in Central Ohio,” Kyle Bivenour, Lime Operations Manager for Columbus. “We believe that students will greatly benefit from fast, affordable, and convenient options of getting around campus while reducing the university’s carbon footprint.”

LimeBike launched earlier this summer in Columbus and Dublin, followed by the arrival of the Lime-S electric scooter rental service just two weeks ago. Their scooter service is the second to land in Columbus, following the arrival of Bird in early July.

“We are excited about Lime expanding the portfolio of affordable and sustainable transportation options available to students,” stated Shamina Merchant, OSU Student Body President. “These dockless scooters and bikes will help to increase connectivity between central campus and the greater Columbus community.”

LimeBikes generally cost $1.00 per thirty-minutes of ride time, but are available for just 50 cents for students. Lime-S scooters are $1.00 to unlock and 15 cents per minute to ride.
