Library Releases Design for Parsons Avenue Branch

The Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML) has released the latest design for their Parsons Avenue Branch. A rendering showing a one-story building with a mix of modern and traditional elements was also presented to the neighborhood at a June 18th event.

Ben Zenitsky of CML explained that the design is the result of a customer survey and several community meetings aimed at getting feedback on the design. He said any changes to the look of the building from this point on will be minimal.

The library and neighborhood leaders have high hopes for the new branch, both as a community resource and for its potential to stimulate further development along Parsons.

Construction of the new branch is scheduled to start in 2015, with the goal of completing the building some time in 2016.

CML opened a new Driving Park Branch in July and is scheduled to open a new Whitehall Branch in September. Also, still in the planning stages is a renovation of the downtown library, and a potential multi-story, mixed-use replacement for the Northside Branch.
