Lexi’s on Third Coming Soon to Downtown
If you’re a fan of corned beef, then you’ve got a new reason to get excited. Lexi’s on Third is the name of a new fast-casual restaurant concept from the team that brought you Danny’s Deli, which will be opening soon in the Chase Building, near the intersection of Broad Street and Third Street.
Many favorites from Danny’s — including the corned-beef and Reuben sandwiches — will appear on the menu at Lexi’s, along with a variety of new salads, soups, burgers, gyros and more.
“I grew up in the restaurant business,” said Lexi’s owner Danny Georges. “My parents started Danny’s Deli — which was named after their favorite child — in Cleveland in 1978. We brought the name and concept to Columbus almost five years ago.”
“Our goal has always been to continue opening places around the Downtown area,” he added. “We wanted to open a second Danny’s, but we are excited about a new venture with Lexi’s — which is named after our one year old daughter.”
In addition to serving breakfast and lunch, Lexi’s will be open until 8pm throughout the summer, with a beer and wine menu and a patio to lure office workers to linger and Downtown residents to stop by for dinner.
“I think people who work and live downtown will really like our new place,” said Georges. “The large windows are a perfect location for people watching and the patio will be a fantastic hang-out during nice weather.”
Building out a new restaurant space from scratch is allowing Georges to create a better workflow than what currently exists at Danny’s Deli.
“The crew over there does a great job cranking out sandwiches as fast as possible, but we are limited by the cooking area and the overall layout,” he explained. “We are hoping that with a larger kitchen, we can get the customer their food even faster, in order for them to enjoy a lunch hour without hurrying back to work.”
Lexi’s on Third is scheduled to open in mid-April. Operating hours will be 7am to 3pm in April, and 7am to 8pm from May through September.
