LeVeque Apartments to Start Pre-Leasing in July, Condos Soon to Follow

While the exterior of the LeVeque Tower hasn’t changed too dramatically over the better part of the past century, the interior has seen a major transformation in the past several years. Every floor of the building is being renovated to accomodate new offices, a new hotel with a restaurant and bar, and a residential mix of for-rent apartments and for-sale condos.

Columbus Underground was given an exclusive tour of the building yesterday, led by Todd Moroz, COO of Kaufman Development, which is the company that is building and managing the residential portion of the project. Moroz said that apartment renovations are progressing quickly despite the challenges that come with working in a historic building. The company expects to begin pre-leasing rental units in July.

Floors 19 through 33 of LeVeque will host a total of 69 apartment units, with a mix of one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. Sizes range from 756 square feet to 1,678 square feet, and prices will range from $1,395 to $2,795 per month. Moroz said that LeVeque residents will begin moving into the building in late fall or early winter.

The top floors in the building will hold 11 condominiums, including a two-floor penthouse known as “Tower Top” on the 43rd and 44th floor. Moroz said that demand for condos at LeVeque has been very strong, even though they’re likely to not come onto the market until this fall with a move-in timeframe of Spring 2017.

All residents, workers and hotel guests that enter LeVeque will have access to a shared ground-floor lobby that began renovations in early 2012 and was completed in late 2013. A new bar and restaurant will open on the mezzanine and second floor levels, which will be open to the public and also provide room service to hotel and residences. Renovated retail spaces are being made available on the Front Street side of the building, and a Starbucks coffee shop will go into the space at the corner of Front and Broad.
