LC RiverSouth Design Updated, Construction to Start in November
Lifestyle Communities (LC) unveiled an updated design of their “LC RiverSouth” development today, featuring a more detailed look at this proposed eight-story Downtown apartment building.
The project was first proposed last November, and was approved by the Downtown Commission two weeks later. LC RiverSouth will include 106 apartment units, street level retail space, and a partially underground parking garage. The project will be located diagonally across Rich and High Streets from the newly announced 250 High mixed-use development.
“This project is vital to the redevelopment of the Rich Street corridor connecting Columbus Commons and COSI,” said Brent Miller, President of Lifestyle Communities. “It’s an exciting project for the City of Columbus and we’re happy to have our community at the heart of it.”
Meleca Architecture is the designer of the building, which will feature a brick and stone exterior with a gabled penthouse.
“The design is of a Classical style in the tradition of the fantastic Beaux-Arts apartment buildings of New York City and Chicago,” explained Architect David Meleca, President of Meleca Architecture.
Construction of the $20.9 million LC RiverSouth building is expected to start in November, which includes the demolition of two existing buildings at the site. The planned completion date is scheduled for sometime in mid-2015.
