    Land-Grant Brewing Starts Canning Beer

After eight months of operations, Franklinton’s Land-Grant Brewing is ready to expand. The brewery/brewpub at 424 West Town Street is starting up their canning machinery to bring canned beers to a store near you.

“We’ll be filling up cans this week on our in-house automated canning line, and will be releasing them to the public on Saturday in our taproom,” said Land-Grant co-owner Walt Keys. “Cans will then be rolled out to various retail locations throughout the Columbus area in the following weeks.”

The first two beers to hit the can are the 1862 Ale and Stiff-Arm IPA. They’ll be found in local Kroger stores, Whole Foods, Lucky’s Market other independent retail locations, retailing at $9.99 per six-pack.

“1862 is a lighter crisp beer with a touch of hop aroma; the ideal beer for BBQs, golf courses, camping trips, and boat rides,” said Keys. “Stiff-Arm brings a fruity hop punch reminiscent of the west-coast, and now you can take that hoppy goodness wherever you please.”

Six packs for sale at Saturday’s event will be limited to one per style per customer.
