Five years ago, a local food company was born with a mission to improve digestive health through the ingestion of a popular probiotic fermented food: sauerkraut. In the time since its launch, Krazy Kraut has become a go-to staple for those seeking our healthy local foods in local grocery stores. “The ingredients are chopped, not shredded, and each retains a serious crunch,” said CU Food Critic Miriam Bowers Abbot in her 2014 product review. “And the flavor? It has a sharp bite to it, like any good pickle. It’s a punctuated sour, briny flavor with a distinctly Mediterranean curry accent.” If you’ve not had a chance to try Krazy Kraut for yourself, the company will be sampling all five of their core flavors at the upcoming Healthy Bites festival on Friday, July 29th from 6pm to 9pm at the Columbus Museum of Art. Those flavors include:
- The Original Dill
- Krazy Kim Chee
- Krazy Kurry
- Juniper Caraway
- Fennel Beet
Healthy Bites will take place from 6pm-9pm at the newly renovated Columbus Museum of Art. Advance tickets are $30 and will include food samples, live entertainment, participatory yoga demos by Art of Yoga, admission to the current exhibits at The Columbus Museum of Art and a cash bar.
