KIACA Gallery in the Short North is Closing
The KIACA Gallery, located at 937 North High Street, announced that they have closed their doors as of December 31st, 2010. They will be hosting a final gallery sale tomorrow, Saturday January 8th and are encouraging patrons to show support by visiting on their final day.
The KIACA Board said the following in a statement regarding their closure:
We regret to inform you that KIACA Gallery will be closing its doors. As of December 31, 2010, with a decreased support from our funding resources and a decrease in community donations, we must regrettably close our doors.
We would like to thank all of those who have supported our unique programming for the past seven years. We are grateful that KIACA was able to provide the community with artists from Africa to New York. And, are pleased with the fact that we supported our mission to bridge the gap between African, African-American and people of the Diaspora.
Again thank you all, for the support that you have given KIACA, from donations to volunteerism and attending all of our exhibitions.
