Jobu Ramen Has Closed, Mashita Noodles Will Re-Open

Another round of sad restaurant news reached the CU offices today: Jobu Ramen at 1439 Grandview Avenue has closed permanently due to financial troubles, co-owner John Franke confirmed this afternoon. The restaurant, which opened in late May 2014, served customizable ramen bowls, Korean barbecue kimchi burritos, and other Asian street foods.

Though Jobu Ramen has closed, Franke’s former pop-up, Mashita Noodles, will rise like a culinary phoenix from the ashes of Jobu and re-open shortly. Franke intends to open Mashita next week inside music lounge Double Happiness in the Brewery District. The formerly-mobile operation’s menu will be focused towards traditional Korean-style dishes, in addition to serving the ramen enjoyed at Jobu.
