Columbus Underground is looking for individuals who are passionate about creating a better Columbus to join our Ambassador Team! CU Ambassadors will help keep Columbus Underground a community-driven resource by being a part of everything from our events, to helping connect others with the latest news about our great city.

CU ambassadors will be excited to spend their time volunteering and assisting at CU events, sharing relevant CU news stories and engaging with other members of the CU community. Ambassadors will be expected to engage with other community members in a welcoming and positive manner.

Each member of the CU ambassador team will receive exclusive CU swag and apparel, access to exclusive ambassador community forums and events, discounts on event ticket pricing, and more. CU ambassadors will also occasionally be the first in the know about breaking news in the city!

Account Executive - Full-Time

Evans Creative Group is looking for a digital advertising Account Executive to join the team at Columbus Underground and The Metropreneur. The account executive will be responsible for the entire advertising sales cycle from prospecting to lead generation to consultation, close, and then account management.

We’re looking for someone who is consultative, empathetic, and client-focused but also goal-driven and hungry for success. The account executive will be expected to hit monthly sales goals while effectively growing and managing his/her pipeline.

We are a small but powerful team that knows how to get the job done. Your work will be meaningful and rewarding in ways that reach beyond just a paycheck.

What it takes to be successful
Required:

Bachelor’s degree
1+ years of B2B sales experience
Capable of successfully executing all aspects of the sales process
Ability to work independently while also being a positive team player
Self-motivated w/ excellent organization and time-management skills
Superb oral and written communications skills
Proficient in presentation and persuasion
Excellent client service and problem-solving skills

Preferred:
-Previous experience selling advertising, sponsorship and/or marketing services to small and medium businesses
-Affinity for Columbus and a passion for the businesses who call it home
-Enthusiasm for digital marketing, online advertising, and event sponsorships
-Experience w/ Google Ad Manager, Google Analytics, CRM platform like Salesforce
-Entrepreneurial spirit who can adapt nimbly to change and growth
-Can do attitude with flexibility to work outside defined scope of work
-Detailed oriented and coachable

This is a salary plus commission position. Some of the benefits offered to our employees include paid time off, health insurance, CPass to use COTA for free, and 6 holidays each year.

Event Coordinator

Do you love the feeling of hosting an amazing party that people anticipate for weeks in advance and buzz about for weeks after it’s over? Do you love showcasing the amazing people, places and local businesses that make Columbus a great city to be? Do you love being able to give back to the community in a meaningful way?

Columbus Underground is looking for our next Event Coordinator to lead our roster of events including the Sweet Treats Dessert Festival, Urban Living Tour, and the Columbus Coffee Festival. The Event Coordinator will oversee the production of multiple large-scale events from start to finish, including opportunities to expand existing events and to create brand new events, and will lead our CU Ambassador team.

We’re looking for someone who loves Columbus and is an experienced leader, enjoys working with a team, has amazing creative design skills, a great sense of humor, a creative instinct, loves working under deadlines and is comfortable under pressure, and loves trying new things.   

Responsibilities include managing client relationships, event conceptualization, event marketing (graphic design skills a plus), logistics and volunteer coordination, event theme development, event execution, event venue site selection, and other related duties.

The optimal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter and task-master who works well with a team and has a strong creative eye. The position calls for managing deadlines, managing customer and client expectations, managing people, and requires some non-traditional office hours during scheduled events.

A minimum of two years of large-scale event planning or event coordination experience is required.

Ability to lift 40 pounds and be standing for periods of time is required.

Internships - Journalism / Photography

Columbus Underground is currently seeking eligible interns for Fall and Winter sessions. Internships are customizable part-time positions in the realm of journalism and photography. Ideal candidates will have existing writing, editing and photography experience. This internship includes a mix of on-site work in our Downtown offices and off-site work that can be completed on your own schedule, though interns are expected to be highly responsive to text/email communications throughout internship term.
