Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams will not be reopening two of its Central Ohio scoop shops.
Both the shops in Powell, 8 N. Liberty St., and Bexley, 2156 E. Main St., are now closed and no longer listed on the ice cream maker’s website.
Jeni’s issued a statement regarding the closures.
“We’ve loved serving both the Bexley and Powell communities for 10+ years. While this isn’t a goodbye forever, we’ve reached the end of our leases and are exploring the possibility of moving to different locations. We hope to find the perfect spots down the road so we can continue scooping for these amazing communities.”
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Jeni’s opened its scoop shop in Bexley in 2008 and Powell in 2010. The ice cream maker still has six stores in Central Ohio – North Market, Grandview, Short North, Dublin, Clintonville and Easton – and operates two seasonal shops, one in German Village and the other at the Columbus Commons.
