    It’s Fellows Friday!

    The Columbus Foundation’s fourteen Summer Fellows are finishing Week 2 at their host nonprofit organizations—becoming fully immersed in the mission and specific projects they were matched with.

     2018 Summer Participants include:

    • Besa Community, Inc.Emily Stuhldreher of Cuyahoga Falls, and student of The Ohio State University, will create an engagement strategy designed to attract younger demographics to volunteer service.
    • Boys & Girls Clubs of Columbus (BGCC) —Nathaniel Stewart of Findlay, and student of The Ohio State University, will implement BGCC’s Summer Fellowship program which hires, trains, and places 100 youth in paid summer internships. Nathaniel has been selected as the 2018 Richard H. Oman Fellow.
    • Cartoon Crossroads ColumbusMaeve Scully of Boston, Massachusetts, and student of The Ohio State University, will coordinate a communications strategy using best practices for connecting to core audiences using research and multiple media platforms.
    • City Year ColumbusMegan Simmons of Seattle, Washington, and student of The Ohio State University, will focus on expanding the current grants research initiative and grow the pipeline for future funding prospects for the organization.
    • Equality Ohio Education FundMason Hickman of Kent, and student of The Ohio State University, will manage and support the organization’s social enterprise, which helps businesses improve equality for LGBTQ people in corporate culture.
    • Ethiopian Tewahedo Social ServicesIsabel Taylor of Columbus, and recent graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, will assist with the coordination of summer camp and the planning of the Youth Summit.
    • Huckleberry HouseEmily Long of Maria Stein, and recent graduate of The Ohio State University, will create an operations management plan for Project Safe Place, which creates a safety net across the city for youth who need emergency shelter.
    • Jewish Community CenterKidest Beyene of Columbus, and student of The Ohio State University, will lead the counselor-in-training program where teens gain skills and experience being a role model, teaching younger youth, resolving conflicts, and keeping campers safe throughout the summer.
    • King Arts ComplexImani Harris of Cleveland, and student of The Ohio State University, will administrate the 8-week summer youth Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) academy, which introduces 175 youth in grades K-12 to multiple artistic disciplines through project-based learning.
    • LifeCare AllianceRadhika Pandit of Mason, and recent graduate of The Ohio State University, will develop and implement a marketing campaign focused on LifeCare Alliance’s 120th anniversary.
    • Local MattersMichaela Master of Columbus, and student of The Ohio State University, will research program effectiveness and produce a report highlighting suggested improvements in service delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Muslim Family Services of OhioJessica Shakesprere of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, and recent graduate of The Ohio State University, will raise community awareness of the organization by developing a comprehensive marketing strategy across social and print media platforms.
    • Ohio Crime Victim Justice CenterBradley Petrella of Hilliard, and recent graduate of the University of Dayton, will review the victims’ rights toolkit website to make it more user-friendly for clients.
    • Tech CorpsMadeline Foley of Columbus, and student of the University of Cincinnati, will work to increase the organization’s online presence to attract new program participants, volunteers, and staff.
