Their bright, sing-a-long-worthy first single, “Light Me Up”, seems as if it was almost intentionally written as soundtrack material. TV has certainly taken the bait – it’s been featured in promos for the new Showtime original series, Roadies, and HBO’s iconic Game of Thrones; ESPN has also mixed it into spots for the NFL Pro Bowl and play-offs, among about a dozen other vehicles. The band has achieved nearly 190,000 digital downloads and 30 million online streams. Newly-released “Only Temporary” is now receiving a respectable number of spins on SiriusXM’s The Pulse.

Forming in 2007, Bronze Radio Return members Chris Henderson (lead vocals, guitars) Rob Griffith (drums), Bob Tanen (bass), Matt Warner (organ/keyboards/samples), Patrick “Packy” Fetkowitz (lead guitar), and Craig Struble (harmonica, banjo), have released three full-length albums and an EP – their eponymous recorded debut landed in 2008.

Their newest record, also entitled Light Me Up, was released in October 2015. Producer Chad Copelin (Ben Rector, Sufjan Stevens) was at the controls for the bands three-week session at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas, before heading back to Copelin’s own studio in Oklahoma.

Bronze Radio Return’s audiences can expect their live show to exceed the irresistible energy of their studio work. ““This band is the sum of its parts,” explained singer Chris Henderson in one of the band’s press releases. “We focus on songs in the studio and energy on stage. We love to incorporate different elements to create a diverse listening experience. For as fun as it is, we spend a lot of time writing about themes that are meaningful to us. It’s like a big ol’ bowl of chili. There are all different spices and flavors. When you put it in a cauldron and stir it up over heat, it creates this new taste.”

“We love playing live. When you fill up a room full of fans who are excited to hear your music, all you can say is, ‘Let’s have fun. Let’s feel good.’ On a second level, I prefer surrounding myself with positive people. There’s something about that energy when you’re around somebody smiling. It lights you up a little bit. When you seek out people like that, you end up feeling positive yourself, at least from my point of view.”

Bronze Radio Return will be on stage with Air Traffic Controller on Saturday, October 1, 9:00 pm (doors open at 8:30) at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit Street. Tickets are $15.00 (under 21 guests add $2.00 at the door) and can be purchased here.
