Ill Mannered Brewing Co. Breaks Ground on New Facility Next Week

Construction on Ill Mannered Brewing Co.’s new facility will finally begin next week, following an initial announcement last summer. The brewery, which first opened roughly two and a half years ago, will be developing a new brewery and taproom just east of its existing location at 30 Grace Drive in Powell. The goal is to open before their third anniversary in late August.

The new building offers 3,000 square feet of space, which will include a 1,500 square foot taproom and a 1,500 square foot brewing space. Outside, a 1,000 square foot patio featuring a fire pit and food truck parking will be built.

“This day has been a long time in the works and we couldn’t be more excited. With the construction of this new facility we are proud to show our commitment to and passion for the community of Powell as its neighborhood brewery since 2015. We’ll be delivering fresh, local, hand crafted beer here for a long time to come,” said Tom Ayres, Ill Mannered Head Brewer, in a press release. “We have incorporated both customer feedback and our experience brewing in our current space into the new building to maximize the customer experience while maintaining the immersive small, local, brewery look and feel.”

Ill Mannered will be celebrating the start of construction with a groundbreaking party next Wednesday, February 28. The event starts at 4 p.m. and will include a new beer infusion, the 2016 Barrel Aged Tremendous Slouch Wee Heavy.
