IKEA Announces Opening Date for Columbus Store

It’s been two and a half years in the making, but the finish line is now firmly in sight. Officials with IKEA announced today that their new Columbus location will no longer open in “Summer 2017” and have instead confirmed the official grand opening date as Wednesday, June 7th at 9 a.m.

“We are thrilled by the excellent construction progress made to date, and believe we can complete the remaining milestones and interior build-up by early-June,” stated IKEA Columbus GM David Garcia. “We look forward to introducing Central Ohio customers to a whole new way of shopping for the home.”

The new store — located just off I-71 and Gemini Place in the Polaris area — measures 354,000 square feet and features nearly 10,000 individual items for sale across 50 room-style displays. The store also includes a 450-seat restaurant and children’s drop-off play area.
