The Taste Hospitality Group announced this week that they have acquired Wine On High in The Short North, adding to their growing list of restaurant and bar concepts, which includes The Hubbard Grille located next door.

“Fundamentally, it’s already a really successful business integrated into the community,” said Sheila Trautner, president and owner of Taste Hospitality Group. “I have a personal interest in wines and we’ve hosted numerous wine tastings and dinners at our restaurants. I definitely think there are some synergies that come with having two business located right next door to each other.”

Wine on High is expected to undergo some decor updates and inventory changes in the future, but regular customers should notice few changes since the change in ownership took effect last Friday. All existing staff has been retained, and the upstairs wine bar will also continue to function as a private event space.

“We’re not trying to change the business in any way — it’s still going to be a wine and beer shop,” added Trautner. “One of the key unique qualities of Wine On High is the fact that the inventory is eclectic and features more than just ‘grocery store brands’. I do see opportunities to add to the space, but that will come in the long term.”

Other Taste Hospitality brands include Mezzo Dublin, The Venue at Corazon and the Creekside Conference and Event Center.
