Hot Dogs are Hot in Columbus in 2009
From The Dispatch:
Rising demand, exotic toppings have wiener vendors on a roll
By Kevin Joy
A hot-dog revolution is sweeping through town, with six new eateries having set up shop in recent months. With toppings ranging from dried cranberries to cream cheese served on high-quality wieners, the timeless hand-held meal has turned into the face of sloppy chic.
Hungry hipsters are drawn to veggie-dog vendor Tawd Bell, whose Rad Dog! cart hawks meatless franks on weekdays Downtown and at nearby festivals. And, even before its opening, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace boasts 168 Facebook friends, 461 Twitter followers and endless, giddy chatter on Internet message boards.
