Holiday Shopping Guide 2011 – Fashion
The holiday shopping season officially begins tomorrow with Black Friday! Even if you don’t take part in that day’s worth of madness, it doesn’t hurt to start planning in advance the gifts you’ll buy your loved ones this year. Once again, we’ll be providing weekly installments in our annual Holiday Shopping Guide series that will give you categorized tips, information and ideas on local gifts. First up — gift ideas from the world of local fashion and clothing:
1. Vintage Belts at The Attic – $12-$18
The Attic in The Short North carries a wide variety of clothing and non-clothing vintage items, but their belt collection is what grabbed our attention. Their selection provides an assortment of fashion ideas for both men and women.
2. Charles Kleibacker Scarf – $43
The Columbus Museum of Art Store is currently featuring this unique silk scarf designed by the late Columbus fashion icon Charles Kleibacker. Makes a great choice for the art-appreciating fashionista in your life.
3. Countess Mara Bowtie from Pur•suit – $29
Local popup shop Pursuit is set up in the South Campus Gateway for the holidays, and in addition to affordable men’s suits they offer a selection of accessories, including these bowties. Perfect for anyone looking to become the next Gordon Gee, Artie Isaac or Cleve Ricksecker!
4. 200 Years of Awesome T-Shirt – $24
New T-Shirt company State of Devotion has several Columbus-centric shirts, but our personal favorite is their bicentennial design that features 200 years of awesomeness. Ring in the 2012 by showing your city pride.
5. Holiday Party Wardrobe Makeover from Rowe
Rowe Boutique in The Short North has become one of the city’s premiere destinations for fashion. If you’ve got a holiday party coming up and you’re in need of something new to wear, step inside of Rowe and treat yourself to something new and exciting.
6. Double Breasted Plaid Coat from Tigertree – $108
Tigertree boasts the latest styles for both men and women, along with a wide assortment of accessories, home goods and lifestyle items. There’s plenty to like here, but the item that caught our eye most recently was this fashionable coat.
7. Wallet from Zeroz – $22-$30
Zeroz is celebrating their first anniversary in their retail space on Gay Street, and you can help them celebrate by purchasing one of their locally-made products this year. Wallets range in size, style and color to give everyone options for a unique look.
8. Limited Edition CD101 TShirt – $35
Give the gift of CD101! HOMAGE is printing a limited-edition tshirt with a classic CD101 design, which also comes bundled with a USB drive filled with local music!
