HighBall Halloween is back in-person in 2021, but making a move off of High Street.
HighBall Halloween will be held Saturday, October 23 from 6 – 11 p.m. at the EXPRESS LIVE! outdoor stage, 405 Neil Ave.
“It’s important that HighBall Halloween returns as an in-person event this year, and more important that we execute it as safely as possible,” said Betsy Pandora, executive director of the Short North Alliance.
Per PromoWest Productions and AEG COVID-19 guidelines, all HighBall Halloween guests will be required to show proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination at entry. Masks will also be required at all times, except when actively eating or drinking. Finally, capacity will be limited to 4,000 guests to allow for better social distancing and continue to be reassessed based on evolving local health and safety standards.
“HighBall is such a special time for the community to celebrate creativity, diversity, and imagination,” Pandora said. “It’s also the single most impactful fundraiser for our organization, supporting the Short North Arts District’s public art, marketing, events and programs, and more, all of which support our small business community. We need all of those things more than ever, and thanks to EXPRESS LIVE! we’re able to deliver all of the above safely.”
While the event will move to a new venue, some familiar faces will take the stage for the celebration. Virginia West and NBC4’s Matt Barnes and Monica Day will serve as HighBall hosts, with performances from MojoFlo and The West Family.
It’s once again dress to impress, as costumes and creativity take center stage with both the Costume Couture Fashion Show and the Out of the Closet Public Costume Contest during which guests will have multiple chances to win $100 prizes.
Tickets start at $30 for early-bird general admission, and $70 for VIP, with ticket prices increasing to $35 and $75 respectively on Friday, October 8.
