    One of the most popular things for students to do with friends is to go out to eat. Unfortunately, because of the recent rise in food costs, this is no longer a cheap way to bond with friends.

    Restaurants on High Street are following this trend. Prices went up at Pita Pit in the beginning of 2007, said Rick Matulja, the general manager. He said the prices increased because minimum wage increased.

    “We start our employees at $7, so minimum wage increases didn’t affect us,” said Jimmy Barouxis, manager of Buckeye Donuts.
