Thank Yoga was slated to close May 31, but, thanks to Gantman, the studio will be reborn as Heartfelt Yoga starting June 1. With its cozy size, windows pouring in natural light on three sides, friendly wood floors and a way above average sound system, this studio space is beloved by its community and many visitors to the Short North.

“I can’t tell you how dang happy this makes me,” said Melissa Petty, owner of Thank Yoga, “The name and ownership will change but the heart and soul of the studio will continue.”

A 200-hour RYT graduate of the teacher training program at Yoga Six, Gantman has been teaching several years, and she strongly believes that teachers are there for suggestions, but “everyone should be doing their own yoga.”

Gantman and her teachers will offer small, no-pressure, yoga classes in a variety of styles.

“There are poses that I used to really dislike, like Pigeon Pose, so I have lots of suggestions to make some things more accessible.” says Gantman.

Current teacher, Alexandria Ianni, is also interested in making each student as comfortable as possible.

“We have all body types here, but it is our common community that makes it special and gives us a great vibe,” she says. “I am very charged about Alice’s ownership.”

In the future, Gantman plans to have events with Kindred Beer in Gahanna.

“I love the small business community in Columbus; I am reaching out to them about several possible yoga events,” she says.

“I am so grateful to Melissa Petty and the community for their support during this transition,” says Gantman. “While we will have something of a soft opening for a while, in the Fall we will have a big celebration. Follow our social media to stay updated! We have a Facebook page and instagram!”

Heartfelt Yoga (formerly Thank Yoga) is accessed from the parking off Pleasant Street for 29 E. Fifth Ave. behind The Table restaurant and Fireball Press. Scheduling is on MindBody under Thank Yoga Studio for now, and the current drop in is $16.

Mention Columbus Underground and purchase the 10 class pass, you get 5 free passes or if you purchase a 20 class pass you get 10 free passes. This offer is good thru June 30, 2018.
