The Zest Juice Co has rapidly expanded since their launch near Grandview Heights in 2014 and will soon be opening stores at Easton Town Center and in the Short North. The company specializes first and foremost in cold-pressed juices, but also features an extensive healthy food menu that includes bowls, toasts, noodles, wraps and more. Anyone interesting in sampling that food menu can get a chance to do so at the upcoming Healthy Bites festival on Friday, July 29th from 6pm to 9pm at the Columbus Museum of Art.
Chef Alyse Cho is showcasing four menu items, which include:
- Quinoa Tabbouleh – A play on a traditional Labanese dish made with protein rich quinoa, fresh lemon juice, cold press olive oil, lots of parsley and fresh tomato, cucumbers, peppers and onions.
- Lemon Blueberry Chia Seed Pudding – A raw energy rich pudding made with cashews, dates, chia seeds, fresh lemon zest and blueberries.
- Pesto Vegetable Wrap – Raw cashew, basil, spinach pesto with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, bell peppers, and spinach. All this wrapped in a vegan sundried tomato tortilla.
- Protein Bites – A Zest staple. Our protein bites feature Epic vegan plant based protein; incredibly nutrtious and bio-available protein sources. Brought together with local Krema almond butter and gluten free oats and sweetened with dates. Our featured flavors are carrot cake, cacao nib, and cranberry orange zest.
The Easton location will be located at 4037 Fenlon Street, near the Macy’s. The Short North store will be located at 912 N. High St, next to the Black Brick Bar.
Healthy Bites will take place from 6pm-9pm at the newly renovated Columbus Museum of Art. Advance tickets are $30 and will include food samples, live entertainment, participatory yoga demos by Art of Yoga, admission to the current exhibits at The Columbus Museum of Art and a cash bar.
Featured food vendors include Fusian, Root 23, Pocket Produce, Gluten & Grain Free Gourmet, CoffeeFit Bar, Banana Leaf, Krazy Kraut, Zest Juice Co., Food for Good Thought, Snowville Creamery, Darista Dips, Native Cold Press, Acre, Alchemy Juice Bar + Cafe, Fronana and Lift Energy bars and drinks. We’ve also brought on board Cadence Kitchen, who will be providing on site food demos of quick and healthy meals.
A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to The Godman Guild. The Columbus Underground Best Bites event series have collectively raised over $16,000 for local charities since August 2014, with a goal of raising $20,000 for local charities in 2016.
