Healthy Bites Preview: Juices, Plants, Sushi, Desserts & More!
While temperatures are rising, we are reaching for lighter meals and cooler drinks! Luckily, there is no shortage of local products that can help us live our best summer lives here in the Capital City. Columbus Underground and Shipt are bringing together our favorites for a health forward party once again on July 13. Healthy Bites will showcase almost two dozen local vendors that will give you a taste of living well. From fresh pressed juice to a moss wall, this is not an event you want to miss!

Native Cold Pressed has been spreading their cold pressed love to the city of Columbus since 2014. They serve up a list juices with something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a little pick-me-up or trying to detox, Native is ready to educate you on all the good juice has going for you! That’s one of the reasons why, in the past three years, they have expanded their menu and their presence in the city, now working on opening their third location in Columbus. We could all use a little more nature in our lives, and Jessie Laux, founder of Planthropy, is here to help! Planthropy creates succulent arrangements in up-cycled containers, to help bring nature indoors. At Healthy Bites, the Planthropy booth will feature a moss wall backdrop complete with a variety of beautiful and lush succulent headpieces, moss mustaches and other plant accessories that people can use to take photos with. Fusian sushi wants you to know what you’re eating and for you to feel good about it. In fact, it’s a place where you can watch their staff pick your customized sushi fillings and roll them right in front of you! From seasonal produce to ethically raised proteins, they only use simple, natural and local ingredients whenever possible. Food for Good Thought is more than a gluten-free bakery. Founded in 2008 by Dr. Audrey Todd, the company fills two important gaps in our community. They provide culinary training and supported employment for people with autism and gluten-free foods for consumers with dietary sensitivities. Last year they were named Social Enterprise of the Year by The Metropreneur. At Healthy Bites, Food for Good Thought will be dishing out samples of their gluten free baked treats. Healthy Bites will feature food tastings, mini yoga sessions from PAI Yoga, samples from Balm Skincare, massages sessions by Open Sky Day Spa, a photobooth by Trapped Columbus, plant fun with Planthropy , and Hygrowponics, live music and a cash bar. Food samples will be available from: Fusian, Root 23, Pocket Produce, Ridiculously Good Salsa, Zest Juice Co., Food for Good Thought, Native Cold Press, Fronana – The Ice Cream for Everyone, Franklinton Gardens, Acre, Darista Dips, It’s All Natural, Graze, FUSIAN, Franklinton Farms, Boline Apothecary and more! Tickets are on sale now for two ticketed times. A limited number of Early Bird tickets will get guests into the event between 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. for $30 and $25 General admission ticket gets guests in from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
A portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales will be donated to The Godman Guild. Columbus Underground Events have been raising funds for local charities since August 2014.
