We have much more to offer than what’s listed, so be sure to check us out on the web, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

January | Join one of our 29 community centers; most of which provide access to gyms, free weights, cardio equipment, weight machines, programs and professional instruction. Martin Janis and Gillie centers are for the 50+ community with applicable programming and fitness centers. The Franklin Park Adventure Center is designed for therapeutic recreation, which modifies recreation programming to the meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and the McKnight Outdoor Education Center is focused on outdoor and environmental education and exploration.

February | Knock your weight off and develop a sense of practice with boxing classes featured at six of our community centers. People of all ages can be coached by professional and Olympic boxers including Jerry Page, James (Buster) Douglas, Vonzell Johnson, Tim Bo, Everett Smith and Kamal Hasan.

March | Swim off the pounds with lap swimming, lessons or water aerobics at the Columbus Indoor Aquatic Center located next to Thompson Community Center in Victorian Village.

May | Have fun and get in shape with friends when you join one of our adult sports leagues such as baseball, basketball and volleyball. Due to popular demand we are adding dodgeball, kickball, pickle ball and wiffle ball this year!

June | Get you children active, engaged and outside at one of our many summer camps or through the Discover Boating program where they learn the basics of sailing and canoeing.

July | Cycle, run or walk your way to health on our 120 miles of trails, many of which are part of the Central Ohio Greenway regional trail system.

August | Stay active and cool at the same time by visiting one of our seven outdoor pools.

September | Row into better shape by exploring the 9 mile Olentangy River Water Trail by canoe, kayak or paddleboad. There are currently four access points along the River and a fifth being added this fall at Second Avenue and Harrison Park Place.

October | Admire the fall foliage as you explore the City’s 382 public parks, which are diverse in their location and amenities including shelters, reservoirs, waterfalls, trails and scenic lookouts.

November | Cultivate a sense of calm and mindfulness during the holiday season with yoga, tai chi and other mind-body practices taught at many of our centers.

December | Spin or dance your way into the new year with spinning and dance classes taught at select centers.
