Harvest Pizzeria has found a new home on the south side of Downtown – 0.9 miles from its original German Village location.
The pizzeria will take over the space formerly occupied by Westies Gastropub at 940 S. Front St. in the Brewery District. At 5,300 square feet, the new spot is significantly larger than the flagship 24-seat location (not counting the also defunct Curio).
“It gives us room to breathe and guests to stretch out a little,” says Harvest Owner Chris Crader. “However, retaining the welcoming atmosphere of the original space is a priority.”
The new Harvest space will be split between a dining room and a bar area that doubles as an events space.
Harvest closed its original German Village location in April 2019 after slinging pies for eight years. Citing the landlord’s demand for a higher lease rate as the reason for its closure, Crader was always interested in bringing a location back to the area.
“Our first home was in German Village and that will always be emotionally ingrained in us,” he says. “With the overwhelming public response we received as the former German Village restaurant was closing we knew it was not only our pleasure, but also our duty, to return.”
Harvest Pizzeria in the Brewery District is slated to open this winter. Harvest also operates locations in Bexley, Clintonville, Dublin and Over-the-Rhine in Cincinnati. Its Grandview location also closed earlier this year, becoming The Old Spot.
