Harvest Pizza Owner Opening New Restaurant Concept at 250 High

Local restaurateur Chris Crader is on track to open four highly-acclaimed restaurants in just five years. He launched Harvest Pizzeria in German Village in 2011, The Sycamore in German Village in 2013, the Harvest Bar & Kitchen in Clintonville in 2014, and today it was announced that he will be bringing a new concept to 250 High next summer.

“We have been following Chris as a consumer, and we’re really impressed with what he does and his ability to create concepts that we think are in line with our vision for our project,” said Brett Kaufman, Owner of Kaufman Development, the firm that is developing the building along with The Daimler Group. “Chris is focused on really good quality food and good ingredients, and that speaks to what our group is focused on. Having someone like that bring their vision to the project is a great combination.”

Few details are being announced today about the concept itself, but the restaurant is expected to offer a wide range of menu items in a variety of formats (counter service, grab-and-go, online pre-ordering and full sit-down service) to appeal to all types of tenants in the building.

“We want to make it easy for people to eat healthy on daily basis,” explained Crader.  “We want to be able to serve the people who just have five minutes to get back to their office during lunch, but also have juice and smoothies for residents who are grabbing breakfast and leaving in the morning.”

Crader said that the concept will differ from Harverst and The Sycamore and will take up 6,000 square feet of the 18,000 square feet available on the ground floor of the building. The new restaurant is expected to open outward to a patio and park area located on the south side of the building at the corner of Main Street and High Street.

“This project is going to take the front burner for awhile as its a pretty big space compared to our original 1,100 square foot Harvest in German Village,” said Crader. “But I can see a few more Harvests opening around town in the future. We also just bought some farmland near Granville, so we’re excited to be able to grow produce and bring that into our restaurants.”

250 High is currently under construction with a projected opening date of Early Summer 2015. Kaufman says that the restaurant should open soon after that. Once completed, 250 High will be home to 120 apartment units, five floors of office space with tenants including NBBJ and Resource/Ammirati, and multiple ground floor retail stores.
