Hang Over Easy to Open Second Columbus Location in Olde Towne East

Due to popular demand, Hang Over Easy will open a second location in Columbus. It’ll be serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner at its new digs at 51 Parsons Ave., where Black Creek Bistro operated for 10 years.

Scott McCrary is co-owner of On The Fly Hospitality, the group behind Hang Over Easy and Village Idiot. He says On The Fly originally wanted to open a sister location of Hang Over Easy that also served dinner. It would have the same signature dishes for breakfast and lunch that can be found at their University District spot, but it would also offer a rotating menu of dinner items and operate under a different name.

Ultimately, they kept that concept but decided to stick with the Hang Over Easy moniker.

“The brand is already well known within the city,” McCrary says. “So we decided to just take it to another neighborhood and see how it does.”

He says a neighborhood like OTE was a good place to offer dinner service, where families are looking to sit down for a meal. Campus dies down around dinner as students “seem to go the fast casual route.”

Although the dinner menu is still being finalized, McCrary says it’s likely to change every 30 days, with the exception of a few staple items. As with the University District location, Hang Over Easy OTE will have a full bar and a cocktail lineup including Mimosas and Bloody Marys.

At 2,700 square feet, the second location is about the same size as the original, and while guests will know they’re in a Hang Over Easy, McCrary says the interior will have elements that are unique to its neighborhood.

Hang Over Easy will open in Olde Towne East in mid-October. On The Fly also opened a Hang Over Easy in Cincinnati this summer, in the Corryville neighborhood.
