Greener Grocer Closing at North Market
The North Market will be losing a very important retailer at the end of the year when the Greener Grocer closes after six years in business. The business provides the market with much of its fresh produce and grocery items, and is located very prominently inside the main entrance of the building. Thankfully, it sounds like there won’t be much of an absence in produce at the North Market for long.
“We are committed to offering produce to market guests and are in the final stages of our lease agreement with an exciting new Chef/Owner of a produce-inspired business,” said North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe. “We anticipate the new business to open in time for the Spring and the start of the Ohio growing season.”
Greener Grocer Founder Michael Jones is leaving the business to focus on his latest endeavor: Good Food Enterprises, which was launched earlier this year.
“I have loved being a merchant in North Market for the past six years and am grateful for the tremendous support we have received from our shoppers, the many passionate employees that have passed through our doors and to the farmers and artisans who have worked so hard for so little to keep us well fed,” said Jones.
The final day for the Greener Grocer is December 31st. The new produce merchant is expected to be announced in early January.
