Grant Hospital Plans Downtown Expansion
Grant Hospital and OhioHealth will go before the Downtown Commission this month to present an $11 million expansion to the healthcare provider’s Discovery District facilities. An application for a certificate of appropriateness was submitted to the commission, which calls for the demolition of an existing building at 303 East Town Street and the construction of a new expansion to the hospital’s Bone and Joint Clinic.
The new building is expected to host 100 to 125 full time medical employees upon completion, and represents an $11 million investment in the Downtown medical campus.
The design of the new four story building would mirror the new main hospital facility that was constructed following the demolition of the 16-story Baldwin Tower in 2004.
