Grandview Mercantile & Big Lots Moving into Former Giant Eagle Space

After three years of sitting vacant, the former Giant Eagle location at 1451 W. Fifth Ave. is about to have a new lease on life. According to Continental Real Estate Principal Frank Kass, the building will be divided in two and shared between Big Lots and Grandview Mercantile.

The relocation for Grandview Mercantile is nearly a homecoming for the business, which originally launched in Grandview in 1997. The business relocated to 873 N. High St. in the Short North in 2002, but recently sold its property to The Pizzuti Companies for redevelopment. The new location on Fifth Avenue will technically be located within the Fifth by Northwest neighborhood in the City of Columbus, but only two blocks north of Grandview Heights.

For Big Lots, a new Fifth Avenue store will represent their most centralized location in Columbus, and 17th store in the Central Ohio market.

In 2014, Giant Eagle relocated their West Fifth Avenue store to the new Grandview Yard Market District store at 840 W. Third Ave.
